Chapter 1 - A Tale of Two Kens

Ken Carson

My name is Ken Carson.  I am a fashion doll that was introduced by Mattel in 1961 as a fictional counterpart to Barbie, who was introduced 2 years earlier.  Similar to Barbie, I have a fashionable line of clothing and accessories.

According to the Barbie mythos, I met Barbie on the set of a TV commercial in 1961, although Mattel has never specified the precise nature of our relationship. Since my debut, I have held at least 40 occupations.

If you want to find out more about me, like all true celebrities, I have my own Wikipedia entry.  Ken (doll).  Not to be confused with the Wikipedia entry of Ken Carson, the dead Western singer.  If you ask me, Wikipedia should have labelled the entries Ken Carson (me) and Ken Carson (dead) instead.

Ken Masters

My name is Ken Masters I am a video game character and deuteragonist of the Street Fighter series, first appearing in the original Street Fighter game in 1987.

My childhood friend Ryu is Street Fighter's protagonist. According to others, Ryu is serious and stoic, whereas I am stylish, unorthodox, and brash.

I also have my own Wikipedia entry.  Ken Masters.  So unlike Ken Carson, I am actually listed with my proper name, and not some silly description like (doll).  And whilst you can criticize me for lacking discipline, I suspect I am not the only one thinking about remodeling Ken Carson's smug mug with a Shoryuken uppercut.  Hadouken in your face.  Peace.  Out.
